TV configurations: remote control

Assign button actions for the TV player, VOD player and TV guide.

Choose the right context

In a TV configuration, open Remote shortcuts. The same button can do different things in the TV player, VOD player and guide. Open the subsection for the screen where you want to use it.

For each button, choose an action from the list. No action disables that shortcut. Save the configuration, send it and confirm on the TV to apply it.

TV player: colour buttons

Assign actions to Red, Green, Yellow and Blue for TV playback. The lists offer actions available in this context, such as opening favourites, history or programme information.

Choosing an action can change another button’s assignment. Check all four colours before saving.

Direction buttons and OK

  • Left, Right, Up, Down and Enter / OK: choose the main press action in the TV player.
  • Long presses on directions and Long press / double Enter: set the extra actions offered for these gestures.
  • Channel + and Channel −: choose their press and long-press actions.
  • An option starting with Same as… reuses the named button’s action instead of assigning one independently.

Available actions include opening player panels, changing channels, returning to the last channel or opening search. After a change, check that other buttons still have the actions you want.

VOD player: short, double and long presses

  • Short presses: configure the directions, Enter / OK and Channel + or −.
  • Double presses: configure the directions and Channel + or − offered in this section.
  • Long presses: configure the directions, Enter / OK and Channel + or −.

Depending on the button, actions include play/pause, fast forward or rewind, restart from the beginning, previous or next episode, audio tracks, subtitles, picture format, content details and autoplay.

Choose gestures you can easily distinguish on your remote. Episode actions require a series; audio tracks and subtitles depend on the content.

Colour buttons in the EPG

Set Red, Green, Yellow and Blue under EPG colour buttons. These assignments apply to the TV guide and may differ from those in the TV player.

Check the shortcuts on your TV

  1. 01After applying the configuration, play a channel and check the TV player buttons.
  2. 02Play a film or series to check the VOD gestures.
  3. 03Open the guide to check the EPG colour buttons.
  4. 04If a gesture is not recognised, check that your remote has the button and supports the selected press type.
