13. Configure and maintain WAVEO
Customize the interface, players, and updates, then check storage and the connection.
01
13.1 Where can I view information about WAVEO and my source?
- 01Open Settings > General information.
- 02View the active playlist, any expiration date, Premium status, statistics, latest update and its report, and server information.
- 03To find the installed WAVEO version, open Settings > App version.
A source may be reported as valid while still refusing certain streams. Test several items and also check the provider's connection limit.
02
13.2 How do I change the language, appearance, and startup screen?
- 01Open Settings > Preferences > Interface.
- 02Choose from the available language, text size, font, date and time formats, theme, and selector.
- 03For detailed customization, open Theme Studio, preview a preset, then adjust its colors, contrast, glass effects, or gradients.
- 04Select the screen to open after choosing the profile if this option is available.
- 05Open main-menu customization to hide or reorder its entries, then confirm.
- 06Finally, set the collapsed menu bar and exit confirmation to suit your preferences.
Return to menu customization and enable the entry again. Hiding a section does not delete its content or data.
Custom themes remain local. Importing or exporting a theme file is not a public feature.
03
13.3 How do I configure players, history, and search?
- Settings > Preferences > Player: internal or external player, resume, next episode, picture, sound, decoding, and buffer.
- Settings > Preferences > History & Favorites: retention period, progress threshold, and threshold for marking content as watched.
- Settings > Preferences > Search: scope, hidden content, and behavior offered by the version.
- Settings > Preferences > Security: PIN and available protections for the active profile.
After a playback problem, test every change on the same content. Several simultaneous changes make diagnosis difficult.
04
13.4 How do I correct the TV guide or catch-up?
- 01First check the device's date, time, and time zone.
- 02Open the playlist settings and check the XMLTV URL and active EPG sources.
- 03Adjust the EPG offset only if every program has the same discrepancy.
- 04Adjust the catch-up offset separately if the guide is correct but playback starts too early or too late.
- 05Refresh the EPG and test a known program again.
Use manual EPG assignment from the channel's actions. WAVEO can manage up to five EPG sources per playlist; their order determines priority.
05
13.5 How do I rename, hide, or reorder groups and channels?
- 01Open Settings > Group management to choose TV, Movies, or Series.
- 02Rename, reorder, or manage custom groups from this screen.
- 03Open Settings > Group visibility to hide, show, or lock a group.
- 04Open Settings > TV channel management to change channel visibility, names, or order.
- 05Use Naming rules to apply a repeated correction, then check a sample before continuing.
Names, orders, hidden channels, and custom groups should not be considered synchronized by Cloud Sync. Create a backup before a significant change.
06
13.6 How do I refresh or schedule updates?
- 01Open Settings > Playlists & update.
- 02Choose the manual update and select the data to refresh: channels, movies, series, or EPG.
- 03Review the final report, even if the screen reports partial success.
- 04To automate the operation, open scheduling, choose a frequency and the relevant data types.
One successful category does not cancel another category's failure. Open the report to precisely identify the affected source, content type, or EPG.
07
13.7 How do I free space without losing essential data?
- 01Open Settings > Playlists & update > Content management.
- 02View the space used by catalogs, images, EPG, and other data.
- 03Start by clearing the cache or running smart cleanup.
- 04Delete a content type only if you accept deleting its catalog and the associated favorites, history, progress, and dependencies.
- 05After deletion, that type remains blocked: choose Reactivate, then start a manual update to download it again.
- 06Check the recordings folder separately, because its files are not deleted like a simple cache.
Deleting a content type is destructive, unlike clearing the cache.
Clearing WAVEO data from Android deletes the entire local configuration. Use this action only after creating and checking a backup.
08
13.8 How do I customize the remote control?
- 01Open Settings > Remote-control shortcuts.
- 02Choose the context to change, such as the TV player or VOD player.
- 03Select a button and its press type: short, long, or double.
- 04Assign an action, then test it before changing another button.
- 05Use reset to restore the default WAVEO controls.
Advanced shortcut customization requires Premium. Without Premium, WAVEO retains or restores the default controls.
09
13.9 How do I configure OpenSubtitles and network settings?
- OpenSubtitles: connect the account from the relevant preferences, then search for subtitles from the VOD player.
- User-Agent: open Settings > Preferences > Player > User Agent settings and change it only if your provider supplies a specific value.
- External player: choose Ask every time or an installed compatible app.
- Trakt, Cloud Sync, and sports services have their own screens and data scopes.
WAVEO controls neither their availability nor their access rules. Never give a password or session token to support.
10
13.10 How do I test the connection, update WAVEO, or ask for help?
- 01First activate the Xtream playlist to check, then open Settings > Connection test and choose Test.
- 02This test uses the active Xtream playlist's credentials; an M3U playlist does not provide the same information.
- 03Review the result without treating it as a test of every individual stream.
- 04Open Settings > App version to check the version and look for an update.
- 05Install only an official update, without uninstalling the current version.
- 06Open Settings > Info & Help for new features and the support QR code.
- 07For a playback problem, open Info or Technical diagnostics in the player's advanced settings, then copy the report or QR code when offered.
Restart WAVEO, check the active profile and playlist, then test known content before changing any settings.
