5. Use a movie or series details page

Start or resume playback, choose an episode, and explore the available information.

01

5.1 How do I start, resume, or restart playback?

  1. 01Open the movie or series details page.
  2. 02For a movie, move the focus to Watch or Resume, depending on the displayed state. For a series, choose the desired episode.
  3. 03Press OK: Resume continues directly from the saved position.
  4. 04To start from the beginning, long-press Watch or Resume, choose Reset progress, then start playback again.
Progress belongs to a specific version

Two copies of the same title from different playlists do not necessarily share the same progress. Check the selected source before concluding that your progress has disappeared.

02

5.2 How do I choose a season and episode?

  1. 01Open the series details page.
  2. 02Choose a season from the available season tabs.
  3. 03Browse episodes with Left and Right.
  4. 04When an episode is focused, view its title, synopsis, duration, and progress when provided.
  5. 05Press OK to play the selected episode.
  • A progress bar below the image may indicate that an episode has been started.

03

5.3 How do I use the trailer, favorites, and Watched status?

  • Trailer: select the corresponding action when a compatible video is available.
  • Favorite: use Add to favorites on the details page, then use the same action to remove it.
  • Custom group: long-press the content or use the action available on its details page.
  • Mark as watched or unwatched: open the actions for the movie, season, or episode when this command is available.
The trailer does not start

The link may be missing, private, or expired, and some devices require a compatible app. This problem does not necessarily mean that the movie itself is unavailable.

04

5.4 How do I view the cast and suggestions?

  1. 01Select More information on the details page.
  2. 02Open the credits to view the available cast and crew.
  3. 03Select a person to see their recognized titles in your playlists.
  4. 04Browse Recommendations and Similar.
  5. 05When a title exists in several sources, choose the playlist or version you want to open.
A suggestion is not always playable

Recommendations may come from an external catalog. They can be played only if WAVEO finds a matching version in one of your playlists.

05

5.5 How do I use an external player?

  1. 01Install an Android TV player capable of opening the relevant stream type.
  2. 02On the details page, long-press Play, Start, or Resume.
  3. 03Choose Play in an external player.
  4. 04Select the app to use if Android asks you to.
  5. 05With Premium, open Settings > Preferences > Default external player to remember an installed app.
Limited tracking features

An external player may not correctly report progress, history, or completion status to WAVEO. Use the built-in player when this information is important.

06

5.6 Why does the information differ from the grid?

The grid may display data received with the playlist, while the details page can enrich it with TMDB or other compatible services. Titles, images, ratings, synopses, credits, or seasons may therefore differ.

  • Without a reliable external ID, WAVEO relies more heavily on provider information.
  • Enriched text follows the available language and may fall back to another language if a translation is missing.
  • A missing poster or rating does not prevent playback if the stream remains valid.
  • WAVEO cannot directly correct the catalog stored by the provider.

07

5.7 I have a problem on a details page

  • The Play button is unavailable: refresh the playlist, then check that the source is valid.
  • An episode is missing: update the series, then check its availability with the provider.
  • Resume starts at the wrong point: check the selected playlist and version, then deliberately reset progress if necessary.
  • More information is missing: the title or external ID may be insufficient.
  • The external player is not offered: no installed app probably accepts this stream.
  • Several copies are displayed: explicitly choose the desired source and quality.
